Admissions advice for St. Xavier's College ( SXC )
Many kids around the country dream of enrolling in St. Xavier's, Maitighar Kathmandu following SEE, but only 504 students succeed in passing the entrance exam. Here are some pointers that will come in handy during the entrance exam.
These pointers will undoubtedly help you improve your performance and raise your chances of being accepted to St.Xavier's college.
First you should know whom you are competing with. If you are a biology contender then you have 336 seats available whereas for physical 168 students. So just focus on your studies and you will surely crack it.
Tips that will increase your chances:
Organize your time:
For entrance exams, time management has always been crucial. It's really difficult to answer all of the questions in a short amount of time. It's not easy to answer 100 questions in 75 minutes. So prepare for it by practicing a large number of model sets in exam format. Don't spend too much time on a question that you can't answer. Complete all of the tasks. Even if you don't have time to answer questions, you can tick one of the options for each question at the last minute. Answer all of the questions (Remember it).
Solve maths later
If you are confident in maths than it's good to start with maths for confidence but if you are not good at it do it last otherwise it might demotivate you. Finally, do the math problems: the questions are divided into sections. It is recommended that arithmetic tasks be solved last in order to manage time and answer questions appropriately. Math questions take up a lot of time compared to the other areas. So, no matter how proficient at math you are, go for it at long last. However, it is not obligatory, and there is no hard and fast rule for solving math problems at the end of the day. Simply said, do not waste your time.
Be active and clever:
When you're nearing the finish of your exams, start using your intellect more effectively. When you have 5 to 10 minutes left, start guessing the answers. Don't think too hard or spend too much time on questions about which you have no notion. Just take a wild guess. (Options B and C are recommended, but they are not always available.) Make sure you don't miss a question. Despite the fact that we only answered 60% of the questions in our class, some people were chosen. As a result, questions are slightly difficult and unknown, and some even originate from the 11th and 12th grade syllabus, which are, of course, difficult. So, don't waste any time and attempt all of the questions.
Don't even try to imagine it. Don't, I said. In the examinations, you have no chance of cheating. You can only rely on one person, and that person is you. It's just you. No one else can assist you inside the corridor. Even the tiniest infraction has the potential to result in expulsion. Take care. SXC is not a simple task.
Be Confident:
The first and foremost thing is to be confident in these exam.If you are confident that half of the job is done. The written exam isn't only a stepping stone to SXC. It is followed by an interview with a panel of professionals who will ask you questions. Confidence is the key to success. I'm sure you'll be able to handle your class queries. However, what you are asked depends on the teachers. As a result, be ready for everything. During the interview round, a large number of students are eliminated. Prepare yourself.
The goal isn't to go to St. Xavier's. Beyond that, there is a wonderful world. So, the most important thing we need to pay attention to is our mental health. The healthier we make it, the better our chances of getting into college. The majority of us are completely worked out about the upcoming admission examinations, which makes no sense. It isn't the end of the world as we know it. Relax, study thoroughly, take the examinations, and be satisfied with the outcome. In any case, Nepal has a plethora of excellent colleges. Give it your all.
Final tip:
Remember don't panic if you are not able to answer some questions pass to next one. Once you get your rythm correct you will surely come back and believe me you will be able to solve it now.
Note: The format of the entry questions has changed slightly throughout this Covid Period. MCQs have been phased out in favor of essay writing questions. Students are required to prepare an essay in response to the questions posed.
